x lets accounts repost a photo and both get paid
x added 'post photo': long press a photo, the original poster gets credit and both accounts earn from original content rewards.
what changed
x added a way to re-share someone else's photo with credit.
x's own description: "see a photo you want to share? long press it and tap post photo. the original author gets credit, and you both earn from original content rewards."
the shared image is overlaid with a link to the original creator's profile.
why it's new
until now, impressions on posts with duplicated images weren't eligible for original content rewards.
now both the sharing account and the original account get credit for engagement.
who can earn
original content rewards needs x premium, at least 500,000 home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, and at least 500 verified followers.
so most small accounts won't see money from this. they still get the credit link.
why it matters for a creator business
if you run several accounts, they can now share each other's photos the official way.
the account that posted first keeps the credit and the link back to its profile.
the short version
- long press a photo, tap post photo, both accounts get credit
- duplicated images used to earn nothing
- payouts still need premium and real thresholds
- share between your accounts the official way
the daily post, by email. nothing else.
